Yellow Furze win Meath Final of Section B Girls 14 March 2016

Yellow Furze N.S. clinched the Meath Section B Title for medium-sized schools played in glorious sunshine at the M.D.L. Grounds  in Navan.The Beauparc school managed by Liz Halpenny,captured the title in style with three deserved wins over Skryne, Donore and KIlcoon. Charlie O Connor’s Kilcloon charges were also impressive as they finished as Runners-Up after losing by only 2-1 in the crucial deciding game.

In the group stages, the Furze girls enjoyed wins over Longwood, Scoil Naomh Eoin and Baconstown.  Kentstown proved the toughest opposition as Yellow Furze needed two second half goals to overcome their neighbours.  In the play-off match the Beauparc Girls overcame a gallant Rathbeggan team to reach the finals stage.

Yellow Furze secured narrow victories over a skilful Kilcloon team and an equally determined Skryne outfit.  Finally the girls captured the title with victory over a well-organised Donore team.

Robyn Murray was highly impressive in goals while in front of her stood a solid sweeper in Anna Wogan.  Zoe Kirwan, Ella Kilfeather and Sadhbh McLarney dominated the midfield exchanges while Kaylin Nugent, Nicola Mongey and Charlie Murray were clinical up front.
