RUNNERS UP Bree Co.Wexford

Ballinamuck (Longford) won all three games in convincing fashion and so advanced to the National finals .They were most impressive in their three games winning 3-1 against St.Damian's Walkinstown with goals from Donna Masterson, Michelle Masterson and Ellie Collumb,1-0 over Kildare and a closely fought 1-0 win over Bree(Wexford )in the deciding game  Laura Whelan pulled off  some spectacular saves in goal and Mandy Cassidy was very solid in defence in the crucial win over Bree. Ellie Collumb scored with a superb strike from 20 metres to clinch the all-important 1-0  victory.

RUNNERS UP Marshalstown (Wexford)
St.Broghan's Offaly captured the Leinster title for small schools and were most impressive with wins over Milltown (Dublin)by 4-0,Taghmon(Mullingar) by 3-1 and  drawing 1-1 with Marshalstown. All the more remarkable is the fact that this was their first time to to compete in any type of soccer tournament.Top scorer was Jim Hendy who had great support also from Dale Sheridan,Benny Sherlock and Robbie Farrell.

RUNNERS UP Mucklagh( Offaly)

 The boys from St. Colmcille's , Aughnacliffe,  completed the double success for Longford schools as they topped the section for medium-sized schools,but only after pipping  Mucklagh (Offaly) and Rathvilly (Carlow)on goal difference. Best for Colmcille were keeper Bryan McCormack, Vincent Hourican and Fearghail Sheridan whose two goals against Rathvilly(Carlow)proved crucial.

RUNNERS UP St.Ciaran's Hartstown(Dublin)
Scoil Mhichil Athy topped the section B Girls for large schools with top scorer Michaela Hubbock in flying form with six goals in four games.Goalkeeper Maeve Molloy and defender Colleen Leigh were also magnificent for Athy as they defeated Stonepark(Longford)by 3-2,St.Bernadette's(Clondalkin)2-0,and runners-up Hartstown by 2-0.

RUNNERS UP St.John Paul 11 Malahide
 Kilkenny C.BS.were deserving winners of the Boys Section 'C' for large schools when they topped the group that also included schools from Malahide, Tallaght, Dundalk and Carlow. A great opening 3-0 victory against Malahide was followed by very close  game against Holy Family, Carlow which finished 1-1. C.B.S. found their goalscoring touch in the third game beating St, Cillian's, Tallaght 5-0.
 
Needing just a point in the last game to be crowned champions, C.B.S. played St. Joseph's, Dundalk. A Dean Cornally goal was enough to send C.B.S. through to the All-Ireland Finals .
 
 Eamon O'Reilly netted 4 goals, Dean Cornally scored 3, Eoin McGovern scored twice and Daniel Bolger also found the net for a team competing in the competition for only the second time ever. Overall , it was a superb team performance with C.B.S goalkeeper Gary Kelly, Eoin McGovern and Eamon O' Reilly particularly prominent.

                   COMPETITION RULES OF F.A.I. SCHOOLS
                   *10 minutes a–side for Section A Boys & Section A Girls *9 minutes-a-side for Sections B & C

* 2 points a win, 1 point a draw.

*In our efforts to promote more skill, goalkeeper may not kick ball from hands or bounce the ball to kick (ie no drop-kick allowed)

In the event of two teams being tied on points, the following criteria shall be applied:

1. Result of game between the sides

2. Goal Difference

3. Goals Scored

4. Goals conceded

*  If still tied, teams shall play a maximum of 5 minutes per half, golden goal rule to apply (i.e. first team to score wins). If at the end of extra time, teams are still tied a penalty shoot out will take place with three kicks per team to apply. If still tied, sudden death penalties to apply.

From Dublin

1.After you pass sign approaching Navan you pass first set of High Traffic Lights. You cross bridge over River Boyne >>>>>>> Watch out for our FAI sign on left side. Be ready to take first left just before Pub/Restaurant (The OLD BRIDGE INN)

2.Up hill for 200 m take first right turn>>>>>Drive on country road for about 2 KM to bring you onto the main road.>>>TAKE LEFT AT JUNCTION

3.MDL Grounds are about 500 m on left.

From Trim

Take Road for Navan>>>>>Continue on this road for 5/6 miles  >>>MDL grounds are on right side.Watch out for sign outside grounds.
