The County winners of Louth ,Meath,Longford and Westmeath in each of the five sections of The FAI Schools five a -side contested the North Leinster Finals on Wed.2nd May at Albion Rovers FC, Monasterboice,Drogheda .

Westmeath schools dominated the North Leinster Finals winning three of the five sections at Albion Rovers FC. Meath had dominated these finals over the past four years but it was Westmeath ,Longford and Louth schools who advanced to the Leinster Finals on 16th May at the MDL Navan.
Louth Co-ordinator Brian Donnelly (Albion Rovers) was delighted to see Westmeath schools dominating proceedings for a change and added "The standard overall was much improved on previous years,particularly in the girls' sections."
Melview girls ( Longford) managed by Carmel Browne made history in becoming the first Longford school to reach the Provincial deciders with a 2-0 win over St.Etchin's Kinnegad ,2-1 win over St.Malachy's Dundalk & a 2-2 draw with Whitecross NS(Meath) and had outstanding performers in Aoife Darcy,Hannah Clancy & Shannon Woods to win Section B Girls. Melview NS Laura Brennan,Sharon Guinan,Shannon Woods,Ruth Kiernan,Hannah Clancy,Lyn Gregg,Aoife Darcy,Ola Kulsiz
Clonbonny( Westmeath) were hugely impressive winners of Section A Boys with the skill of their African-born quartet proving decisive in overcoming the challenge of Mount Hanover(Meath) and Bellurgan(Louth).Clonbonny Seamus Byrne,Aidan Byrne, Mark Flanagan, Alami Sanusi, John O'Mara, Emmanuel Offerjana,Samuel Sanja,Shane McCormack.
Baylin NS Athlone (Westmeath) were convincing winners of Section B Boys as they won all three games in style.They overcame Ardagh(Longford) by 2-0 Blackrock (Louth) by 5-1 and Kildalkey (Meath) in the final by 6-2.Kildalkey had been most impressive in defeating Ardagh and Blackrock.
Baylin NS Athlone Conor Tumulty,Michael McMahon, Cian Hayden, Stephen Brooks,Andrew O'Sullivan,Tommy McCoy,Harry Hughes,Eoin Dunning.
Michael McMahon excelled for the midlanders with Andrew O Sullivan scoring the goal of the day with a superb 25 metre strike.
Last Year's All-Ireland Champions St.Joseph's Dundalk had to see off the brave challenge of St.Mary's CBS Mullingar managed by Seán Martin to win Section C Boys for Large Schools. Dundalk were most impressive in overcoming Dunboyne (Meath) but could only draw 3-3 with the midlanders in a nailbiting encounter before advancing on goal difference.Centre-back Paul Mallon was commanding throughout and had great support from Obeze,McArdle & Gray.St.Joseph's Dundalk Brian Duffy,Paul Mallon,Patrick McDonagh,Samuel Obeze,Michael Gray,Tunbe Adbgboye,Jason McArdle.
St.Kenny's Mullingar made it a hat-trick of wins for Westmeath when winning Section A Girls with 3 impressive wins ,4-0 over St.Emer's(Longford)4-0 over Ardaghy (Louth)and 1-0 over Rathbeggan (Meath) in the final. Best for the Mullingar school were Bridget Heslin,Clare Coyne & Niamh McDermott.

COMPETITION RULES OF F.A.I. SCHOOLS
*10 minutes a –side
* 2 points a win,1 point a draw.
In the event of two teams being tied on points, the following criteria shall be applied:
o Result of game between the sides
o Goal Difference
o Goals Scored
o Goals conceded
o If still tied, teams shall play a maximum of 5 minutes per half, golden goal rule to apply (i.e. first team to score wins). If at the end of extra time, teams are still tied a penalty shoot out will take place with three kicks per team to apply. If still tied, sudden death penalties to apply.

From SLANE(approx 9 miles)
-Take N2 to Collon (5 miles approx)
-In Collon turn right for Drogheda road.
-Stay on this road for approx 2 miles
-when you see sign "Welcome to Boyne Valley" take the next turn left.
-Drive for just over a mile
- You will see left turn for Monasterboice. Don’t take that turn!
-Take the first right after that (200yds)B& B sign .
-Albion Rovers is 300 yds up hill on left.
